The Samsung Galaxy S II is the latest offering from the brand, a smarphone that promises some cool features and an advanced version of the Android operating system. Advertised as the world’s second slimmest mobile phone, this Galaxy model has been receiving some rave reviews. And not without reason either.
The Galaxy series in itself has been quite a hit with smartphone users considering that Samsung opted for a better OS. Android was initially owned by its developers from Android Inc., but once Google purchased the rights the OS has gone through some significant enhancements, and Google of course capitalized on its potential with a range of apps built for the Android. The entire app library for the Android is available from the Google app store Android Library, in addition to several other third-party sites.
With the Samsung Galaxy SII built on a stable platform as the Android, this smarphone does offer some impressive features additions as against previous releases. The look and feel is perhaps something Samsung will look to enhancing, since apart from the slimness itself, the phone feels pretty drab. But the aesthetics is perhaps the only thing that the Galaxy could have delivered better on. But the Galaxy is definitely super-thin, think thinner than a CD disk jewel case. And of course, the Galaxy is very light too.
The user experience with this device is pretty effective. The Galaxy S II is connectible to virtually any interface, either via USB or an HDMI port. The Mobile High-definition Link or MHL technology that this device works on makes it easily a multi-functional mobile phone that can charge up even as you continue to listen to music or upload files. The touch screen functionalities are also pretty intuitive and gesture-based control is part of how the Galaxy S II differs from previous releases. With a 1 GB dedicated RAM and 16 GB built-in memory, the Samsung Galaxy S II is a smartphone that does delivers what it promises.
